Magical Readathon 2020-Choosing a career
Hey there witches and wizards- and Muggles, no judgement!
April is coming, which means... OWLs Magical Readathon is almost upon us!
Check out G's Announcement video for all the relevant information!
After watching the video, I browsed through the Wizarding Careers leaflet- updated version.
I was very practical about choosing my profession, because I'm coming out of a reading slump and reading loads of books is probably not a viable option.
I was very practical about choosing my profession, because I'm coming out of a reading slump and reading loads of books is probably not a viable option.
I also made sure I chose my career had a moderate amount of NEWTs. A fellow bookworm said this way I'm taking the magic out of the whole process (was that a pun? wasn't mine, I promise...), but that's the way I roll. #sorrynotsorry
So my chosen wizarding career is, drumroll please... 🥁🥁🥁
Mage of Visual Arts is it!
I figured my attempt at being a bookstagrammer should be acknowledged somehow... or maybe I just need to work on those photo skills! 🤣Here's my OWLs timid to-be-read:
- Astronomy: Night Classses: Read the majority of a book at night🠚 This gives you free reign over a book choice, which is the best thing. I'm hovering between The Accidental Further Adventures of the Hundred-Year-Old Man and The Invasion of the Tearling.
- Charms: Lumos Maxima: white cover🠚 Again I'm between two:The Raven King or Good Omens
- Divination: Third eye: Let fate choose your tbr🠚 Random number generator chose Hell by Henri Barbusse (you can see it on my OWLs 2020 Instagram highlights)
- History of Magic: Witch hunts: A book featuring a witch/ wizard🠚 Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo, because it's high time I finished the trilogy, what with the adaptation coming out soon!
Then there are the seminars, which require extra subjects:
Once again, I chose the one that sounded appealing to me and had the least amount of commitments possible.I'm going for practicality and fun, if you haven't noticed.
Basically, I'm Monica Geller, you're welcome Friends fans. 😏
Looks like being a magical shop manager requires: |
- Arithmancy: Magical qualities of Number 2: Balance/opposites: Read a book outside your favourite genre🠚 Well, that could be anything, really. I'll most probably go with an ARC. Again I will give myself options: Either Dear Evan Hansen or Dark and Deepest Red.
You may have noticed that I said timid tbr above.
The thing is, I'm more of a mood reader, so if I read a book that could fit a subject instead of the one I picked, I might just count that.
Keeps the suspense going for the wrap up as well, so killing two birds with one stone here!
And that's it from me, love! Till next time! 💋
Come chat with me in the comments:
